Poland is a Hague Apostille member, so Indian documents for Poland take a single MEA apostille, but most cases still need sworn Polish translation by a tłumacz przysięgły (court-sworn translator) registered in Poland. The India-side steps is state-level pre-attestation (State HRD for educational documents, SDM or Home Department for personal documents), then MEA apostille, then sworn Polish translation. Poland runs busy on four desks for us. Poland is Hague (EIF 14 August 2005) but the India-side prior sequence is stricter for educational documents than most Hague-Europe countries. Educational documents require State HRD (not SDM) before MEA apostille. Personal documents go through SDM or Home before MEA apostille. The founder spec calls this out by name (Poland and Italy are the two Hague-Europe destinations that still mandate HRD on educational documents).
For Polish translation, the rule is sworn translation by a tłumacz przysięgły, a court-sworn translator listed on the public registry maintained by the Polish Ministry of Justice. Most Polish authorities including the voivodeship office (urząd wojewódzki), Polish universities, the Polish Chamber of Physicians (Naczelna Izba Lekarska) and the Polish Chamber of Nurses (Naczelna Izba Pielęgniarek i Położnych) expect sworn Polish translation, not a general English-to-Polish translation done in India. We coordinate apostille first, then route translation through a tłumacz przysięgły.
For doctors, nurses, dentists, and pharmacists, chamber recognition by the Polish professional body (Naczelna Izba Lekarska for doctors, Naczelna Izba Pielęgniarek i Położnych for nurses, Naczelna Rada Aptekarska for pharmacists) is a separate case from the visa. The chamber wants apostilled and sworn-translated degree, registration, internship, and good-standing documents from your Indian council. We prepare the input.
