Does Malta need translation of Indian documents into Maltese?
Almost never. Malta is officially English and Maltese, but English is the working language for most government processes. Indian documents in English are usually accepted on the apostilled original. Translation is only needed where the receiving authority specifically requests it.
Single Permit, EU Blue Card or KEI: which one applies to me?
Your Maltese employer chooses. The Single Permit is the default work-residency permit. The EU Blue Card applies to highly qualified employment above defined thresholds. How long does the Indian-side apostille take?
MEA Apostille is 2 to 3 working days normal and 24 hours urgent when originals reach our Noida office by 10 PM. HRD on the degree, where required, depends on the issuing state (Maharashtra 30 to 60 days, Kerala 30 to 45, Andhra and Telangana 10 to 15, UP and Madhya Pradesh 8 to 15, Delhi 30 to 45 normal and 7 to 12 urgent).
Will Malta accept my Indian PCC apostilled in India, or do I need to repeat it in Malta?
India-issued PCC carrying MEA Apostille is the standard form Malta accepts for the Single Permit file. Maltese-side PCC processes sit outside what we cover; Maltese residents past a defined period may also need a Maltese police certificate at renewal.
