Universitaly pre-enrolment, then the long-stay D visa file
Most Italian universities ask students to complete Universitaly pre-enrolment before booking the visa appointment. The Universitaly receipt accompanies the apostilled academic set when the visa application is submitted. Long-stay D applications must be submitted in person at Italy VACs in New Delhi, Jalandhar and Chandigarh; accompanying people are not allowed inside.
Certified Italian translation after MEA Apostille
Italian translation goes onto the Indian original AFTER the MEA Apostille is on it, by translators the Italian Embassy in New Delhi or the Italian Consulate in Mumbai recognise. Translating first and then apostilling a translation is the wrong sequence for an Italy Study D submission; the embassy looks for the apostille seal on the original, not on the translation. Name mismatch on degree vs passport, and affidavit will not fix it
The Embassy of Italy New Delhi DoV page expressly states that affidavits are not accepted for a name mismatch between passport and degree. The corrective is a "one and the same" certificate issued by the competent Tehsildar of the candidate’s area of residence. The Tehsildar process takes its own time; we flag the mismatch on call one so the Tehsildar request goes out the same day HRD does, instead of waiting for HRD to finish first.
