MEA Apostille
Apostille Indian Documents from Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention on 7 December 2022. That changed the document chain for Indian documents going to Saudi use, MEA apostille from India is now the standard authentication, and the older Saudi Embassy / Saudi Cultural Attaché legalisation route is no longer the default for documents covered by the Convention. White-collar work files still routinely go through QVP (Qualification Verification Programme, run through Takamol) or Mosaddaqa depending on the job code in the contract, and the Saudi Cultural Attaché step is still relevant for some education-recognition files. Blue-collar workers go through SVP (Skill Verification Programme). Wakala and GAMCA are visa-side requirements, not apostille prerequisites, they happen alongside, not instead of, the apostille chain.

Most NRI-from-Saudi requests we handle are: a freshly required degree apostille for a job change or promotion that triggered QVP review, an Iqama renewal where the marriage or birth certificate has to be re-presented, a family-visa file where the dependent child birth certificate is the missing piece, a healthcare-professional file where SCFHS DataFlow has flagged a document that needs cleaner attestation, a PCC re-attestation where the validity window has lapsed, or a return-to-India / family-emergency file where civil documents are needed urgently. The chain is the same, but the QVP / Mosaddaqa / SCFHS / SVP / Saudi Culture supporting paperwork varies by case.
The Indian chain runs from our Noida office without you flying back. Your family member in India couriers the original after we have confirmed the route on WhatsApp; we coordinate the issuing-state step (State HRD for educational, SDM or Home Department for personal, Chamber of Commerce for commercial), then MEA apostille, then certified Arabic translation in India where the Saudi recipient requires it (Saudi authorities commonly do, after apostille so the apostille text is also translated). The apostilled and translated set is couriered to your Saudi address by DHL / FedEx with the AWB number shared in writing.
Send a clear scan on WhatsApp (+91-9220161774) or attestation@sizaglobal.com with the purpose, job change with QVP, Iqama renewal, family visa, SCFHS DataFlow follow-up, PCC renewal, or other. We confirm the chain, the realistic timeline, the QVP / Mosaddaqa / SVP / Saudi Culture supporting paperwork needed, and the written quote before originals move. Healthcare professionals working with SCFHS DataFlow should share the DataFlow case reference number in the first message so the document set can be aligned to what DataFlow has already verified or flagged.

Working-day factors
- Issuing-state pre-MEA step duration
- MEA Delhi apostille (typically 2 to 3 working days)
- QVP / Mosaddaqa / SCFHS DataFlow / Saudi Cultural Attaché parallel-track timeline where applicable
- Certified Arabic translation page count
- International courier transit India-to-Saudi (typically 3 to 6 working days)
Avoidable errors we flag in advance
- Routing a Saudi-bound document through the older Saudi Embassy attestation chain instead of MEA apostille, Saudi has been Hague since December 2022
- Skipping the QVP, Mosaddaqa, or SCFHS DataFlow parallel track and assuming apostille alone is sufficient for employment or healthcare licensing
- Sending originals to a Saudi-side agent who then ships back to India for processing, wastes two international courier hops
- Ignoring the Saudi-side family-visa freshness window on PCC and civil documents, the document may need to be reissued, then re-apostilled, if the window has lapsed
- Inconsistent Arabic transliteration of the applicant's name across degree, marriage certificate, PCC and birth certificate, triggers Saudi authority queries even after a clean apostille
Why customers choose SiZA
- NRI-from-Saudi remote coordination tuned to the post-2022 Hague reality: Saudi joined the Hague Apostille Convention on 7 December 2022, so MEA apostille is now the standard authentication on documents covered by the Convention, we route the file as apostille, not the older Saudi Embassy / Saudi Cultural Attaché chain that some out-of-date guides still describe
- Saudi-side parallel-track expertise: QVP (Takamol) for white-collar qualification verification, Mosaddaqa for certain job codes, SCFHS DataFlow for healthcare licensing, SVP for blue-collar workers, we coordinate the apostille to fit the specific Saudi-side use case
- Iqama family addition, family reunion, employment QVP / Mosaddaqa, SCFHS DataFlow, Saudi Cultural Attaché where it still applies, we handle the full picture, not just the apostille stamp
- Tehsildar One-and-Same Certificates for name-consistency issues handled before the chain begins; Arabic transliteration kept consistent across the applicant's entire document set
- 100,000+ documents handled for 20,000+ customers with zero misplaced or mishandled, AWB-tracked return on every international courier to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah and the rest of the Kingdom

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a single official stamp issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the back of an Indian document. Once placed, the document is accepted in any country that is a member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, about 125 countries today, including the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia (since 2022), and Canada (since 2024). For non-Hague destinations such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Egypt, MEA apostille alone is not enough, the document needs MEA attestation plus the destination country's embassy attestation in India.
Is apostille required for Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention in December 2022. For Indian documents going to Saudi Arabia today, MEA apostille (after the relevant pre-step, State HRD for educational documents, SDM or Home Department for civil documents) is the standard India-side authentication. The previous Saudi Embassy + Cultural Attaché route was discontinued in December 2022; some Saudi employers still ask for QVP / Mosaddaqa qualification verification or SCFHS DataFlow PSV separately for licensed professions. SiZA Global confirms which parallel tracks apply to your specific Saudi file at scan review.

“Czech Blue Card required apostilled degree, work experience letters, and a certified Czech translation of my degree. SiZA arranged the Maharashtra HRD first — which they told me upfront is required for degrees from Pune University — then MEA apostille, then the Czech translation. The Czech embassy accepted everything first attempt.”

“AHPRA skills assessment required apostilled pharmacy degree and internship certificate. I was confused about whether Tamil Nadu HRD attestation was needed first. SiZA clarified it clearly — TN HRD is required before MEA for degree apostille. They handled both steps. My documents reached AHPRA exactly as required.”
