Oman is a Hague Apostille country (since 2012) and accepts Indian MEA apostille. SDM then MEA apostille is sufficient for personal documents, and State HRD then MEA apostille for educational documents. Most cases additionally need certified Arabic translation. Visa processing happens through the ROP eVisa portal (evisa.rop.gov.om); employment paperwork often need GAMCA medical and Ministry of Manpower clearance.

Oman has been a full Hague Apostille member since 30 January 2012, so MEA apostille from India is the final India-side stamp. We still see older agency content telling families that documents need Oman Embassy attestation in Delhi. That has not been the position for over a decade. State HRD or SDM, then MEA apostille, and the India-side is closed.
GAMCA medical from a Delhi or Mumbai panel centre is mandatory for the employment visa, separate from the apostille. The Oman visa itself is issued by the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal from the employer side; passport stamping in India is not the routine.
For OMSB healthcare licensing, the apostilled degree, council registration and Good Standing from your state council feed into the OMSB credentialing case. We coordinate the apostille and the Good Standing request so they reach OMSB together.

Does Oman still need embassy attestation, or is apostille enough?
Oman has been a full Hague Apostille member since 30 January 2012. MEA apostille from India is the final India-side stamp for Oman for most uses. No Oman Embassy attestation step. Older agency content still says otherwise; it is out of date by more than a decade.
What does OMSB want for an Indian doctor moving to Oman?
OMSB (Oman Medical Specialty Board) wants the apostilled medical degree, council registration from the National Medical Commission (formerly MCI) and your state medical council, and a Good Standing Certificate from your state council. We handle the apostille steps on each and time the Good Standing request to land with the apostille.
Do I need Arabic translation for Oman documents?
For most Indian-issued documents going for Oman work permits or residence, the document is already in English and Arabic translation is not the default ask. Some employers and OMSB may request certified Arabic translation for specific documents. We confirm with the Oman end before adding translation to the case.
