MEA Apostille
NRI Document Legalisation Service from India
NRI document legalisation from India runs for the most common cross-border use cases: Indian degree / birth / marriage / PCC apostille for the NRI's current country of residence, Indian Power of Attorney apostille for a property transaction or family matter in India, Indian commercial documents for the NRI's business in the destination country, and Indian inheritance documents (Legal Heir Certificate, Succession Certificate, Surviving Member Certificate) for cross-border inheritance.
Start while you're still abroad
NRI document legalisation from India runs for the most common cross-border use cases: Indian degree / birth / marriage / PCC apostille for the NRI's current country of residence, Indian Power of Attorney apostille for a property transaction or family matter in India, Indian commercial documents for the NRI's business in the destination country, and Indian inheritance documents (Legal Heir Certificate, Succession Certificate, Surviving Member Certificate) for cross-border inheritance.
The defining operational reality of NRI document legalisation: the NRI is abroad, but the originals (and sometimes the issuing authority for fresh documents) are in India. SiZA Global runs the India-side end-to-end remotely, family or a trusted local contact hands off the originals to our courier partner; we run the State HRD / SDM / Home Department step, the MEA apostille (or Embassy attestation for non-Hague), and the certified translation where the destination authority requires it. The completed document is sent by tracked international courier (DHL / FedEx) to the NRI's address.
Most NRIs do not need to fly back to India for any of this. Indian Missions abroad cannot apostille Indian-issued documents (only MEA in India can); we coordinate the India-side process so the NRI receives the apostilled document at their current address. Send a clear scan of the document, the destination country, the purpose (visa / immigration / property / inheritance / business), and your address on WhatsApp +91-9220161774. We share the realistic timeline, written quote, and the courier options before any fees move.

Focus on NRIs who are confused by the terminology and just need someone to tell them what the correct process is. A quick scan review call or WhatsApp scan solves this faster than a long FAQ.
- 2
Link clearly to the NRI apostille and NRI attestation pages so users self-route once the terminology is clear.
Remote-coordination timeline factors
- Pre-MEA + MEA pace
- Destination chain (Hague apostille vs non-Hague embassy attestation)
- Translation + international courier
Mistakes NRIs make with the India-side chain
- Trying to legalise Indian documents at the Indian embassy abroad, Indian embassies do not authenticate Indian-issued documents
- Confusing apostille (Hague) with embassy attestation (non-Hague)
- Sending originals without scan review first
Why SiZA for NRI documents
- NRI-from-abroad coordination for both apostille (Hague) and embassy attestation (non-Hague), chain decided by destination
- Family-in-India custodian coordination with tracked custody
- AWB-shared tracked international return on every file

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a single official stamp issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the back of an Indian document. Once placed, the document is accepted in any country that is a member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, about 125 countries today, including the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia (since 2022), and Canada (since 2024). For non-Hague destinations such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Egypt, MEA apostille alone is not enough, the document needs MEA attestation plus the destination country's embassy attestation in India.
Is apostille required for Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention in December 2022. For Indian documents going to Saudi Arabia today, MEA apostille (after the relevant pre-step, State HRD for educational documents, SDM or Home Department for civil documents) is the standard India-side authentication. The previous Saudi Embassy + Cultural Attaché route was discontinued in December 2022; some Saudi employers still ask for QVP / Mosaddaqa qualification verification or SCFHS DataFlow PSV separately for licensed professions. SiZA Global confirms which parallel tracks apply to your specific Saudi file at scan review.
