The Ukraine desk for us looks very different from before 2022. Active new admissions and travel to Ukraine are affected by the ongoing conflict and Indian government travel advisories, which families should check on the MEA website before any travel decision. What we see most now is paperwork tied to Indian students who studied at Kyiv Medical University, Bogomolets, Kharkiv National Medical University, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, or other Ukrainian universities before 2022, who transferred to medical universities in Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, or back to India, and who now need their Ukrainian-issued transfer certificates, transcripts, mark sheets, and degree certificates apostilled for use in those third countries.
For documents going from India to Ukraine, the sequence is the standard Hague sequence: State HRD on educational documents, SDM or Home on personal documents, then MEA apostille. Ukrainian translation is usually required by the receiving Ukrainian authority.
For documents going from Ukraine into a third country or back to India, the apostille happens in Ukraine, not in India. We do not run Ukrainian-side apostille, but we do handle the document workflow on the Indian side once the Ukrainian apostilled documents arrive and need to be used here for FMGE, NExT, or further studies.
Family reunion paperwork, where one spouse is Indian and the other holds Ukrainian citizenship, sit between two consular jurisdictions. Marriage and birth certificates from India need MEA apostille; certificates from Ukraine need Ukrainian apostille. Both sides are required for the case to move.

Does Ukraine accept MEA apostille from India?
Yes. Ukraine has been a Hague Apostille member since 22 December 2003. MEA apostille from India is the final India-side stamp. Ukrainian translation by a translator the receiving Ukrainian authority recognises is usually required after apostille.
I studied medicine in Ukraine before 2022 and now I am back in India. How does FMGE or NExT work for my Ukrainian degree?
For FMGE or NExT in India, the National Medical Commission usually wants the Ukrainian-issued degree, transcripts, and internship completion certificates to be apostilled on the Ukrainian side (by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine or the relevant Ukrainian authority). We do not run Ukrainian-side apostille. Once the documents arrive in India with the Ukrainian apostille on them, we handle any India-side packaging the NMC application requires.
My child was born in Ukraine and we are now living in India. What apostille is needed for the birth certificate?
A birth certificate issued in Ukraine needs Ukrainian-side apostille from the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice or the relevant Ukrainian authority. Indian authorities will accept the apostilled Ukrainian birth certificate for civil registration, passport, and education uses, usually alongside a certified translation into English. We help on the Indian side once the apostilled Ukrainian document arrives.
