Bulgaria runs on three desks for us. Indian medical and dental students applying to the Medical University of Sofia, Medical University of Plovdiv, and Medical University of Varna for English-medium 6-year MD and 6-year DDS programs, which are EU-recognised. Skilled-worker documents for the Single Permit (Едно разрешително), used heavily in IT, hospitality, agriculture, and construction. And family reunion for spouses joining workers already in Sofia, Plovdiv, or Varna.
Bulgaria is Hague. State HRD on educational documents, SDM or Home on personal documents, then MEA apostille. That is the India-side steps.
For Bulgarian translation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria maintains a register of accredited translation agencies. Most Bulgarian authorities, including universities, the Single Permit office, and municipalities, accept Bulgarian translation done by an MFA-Bulgaria-listed agency. We coordinate translation through accredited agencies after the apostille so the apostille text and stamps are also rendered in Bulgarian.
For medical students, the entry exam at the Bulgarian medical university (biology and chemistry in English) is the gate. We do not prepare you for the exam. We do prepare the apostilled and Bulgarian-translated 10+2 marksheets, transfer certificate, and birth certificate that the admission and visa file expect.

Does Bulgaria accept apostille from India?
Yes. Bulgaria has been a Hague Apostille member since 29 April 2001. MEA apostille from India is the final India-side stamp. No Bulgarian embassy attestation step. Bulgarian translation by an MFA-Bulgaria-listed accredited agency is usually required after apostille.
I am applying to Medical University of Sofia. What documents do I need from India?
For Indian medical and dental admissions in Bulgaria, the case usually wants apostilled 10+2 marksheets and certificate, NEET scorecard (where the university recognises it), birth certificate, and PCC. Each goes through State HRD or SDM or Home, then MEA apostille, then Bulgarian translation. The entrance exam in Bulgaria and the admission decision are decided by the university, not by us.
Is the Bulgarian MD degree valid across the EU and in India?
The Bulgarian MD is recognised across the EU. For practice in India, MD graduates from Bulgaria need to clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, now NExT) administered by the National Medical Commission in India. We handle the apostille on the Bulgarian degree and transcripts for use in the FMGE or NExT application when you come back.
