MEA Apostille
Apostille Services for South Korea from India
Hague Apostille Convention member
South Korea accepts MEA apostille since 2007
For Indian documents going to South Korea, the India-side chain ends at MEA apostille, no destination embassy attestation is required. The pre-MEA step depends on document type (State HRD for educational, SDM or Home Department for civil, Chamber of Commerce for commercial). Certified translation is paired separately where the receiving authority requires it.
South Korea apostille work from India runs in three distinct flows: GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) applicants who are usually working under university and KOSAF-driven deadlines, D-2 student visa applicants for Korean university admission, and E-7 / E-9 skilled-worker plus F-6 marriage-immigration applicants. South Korea is a Hague Apostille Convention member, so the India-side chain is State HRD (educational) or SDM / Home Department (civil) before MEA apostille. After apostille, certified Korean translation is the standard expectation for most authority and university submissions.
GKS applicants face the tightest timeline: scholarship documents are usually under university or KOSAF deadlines that do not move, so the apostille and Korean translation have to be planned backwards from the submission date. The typical GKS file includes the final degree, the consolidated transcript / marksheets, the birth certificate (for proof of identity), and supporting recommendation letters that may also need to be apostilled depending on the university. We coordinate the apostille and Korean translation as one workflow so the file lands at the university or at KOSAF complete on a single deadline.
D-2 student visa and E-7 / E-9 / F-6 categories have their own document checklists at the Korean Embassy in New Delhi. The Embassy publishes specific format requirements that occasionally change (particularly around translator certification and apostille freshness) so we confirm the current Embassy checklist in writing before any translation is locked in. Where Korean notarised translation is required (rather than translator-certified), we route accordingly.
Send a clear scan of the document set on WhatsApp +91-9220161774 with the South Korean recipient named in one line (GKS (and which university), D-2 visa, E-7 / E-9 work permit, F-6 marriage immigration, or other) and the deadline. SiZA Global confirms the chain, the realistic working-day timeline for your State HRD, the Korean translation format the receiving authority requires, and a written quote that separates HRD fee, MEA fee, Korean translation fee and SiZA service fee before originals move.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a single official stamp issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the back of an Indian document. Once placed, the document is accepted in any country that is a member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, about 125 countries today, including the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia (since 2022), and Canada (since 2024). For non-Hague destinations such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Egypt, MEA apostille alone is not enough, the document needs MEA attestation plus the destination country's embassy attestation in India.
Is apostille required for Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention in December 2022. For Indian documents going to Saudi Arabia today, MEA apostille (after the relevant pre-step, State HRD for educational documents, SDM or Home Department for civil documents) is the standard India-side authentication. The previous Saudi Embassy + Cultural Attaché route was discontinued in December 2022; some Saudi employers still ask for QVP / Mosaddaqa qualification verification or SCFHS DataFlow PSV separately for licensed professions. SiZA Global confirms which parallel tracks apply to your specific Saudi file at scan review.
