Hague Apostille Convention member
Bahrain accepts MEA apostille since 2013
For Indian documents going to Bahrain, the India-side chain ends at MEA apostille, no destination embassy attestation is required. The pre-MEA step depends on document type (State HRD for educational, SDM or Home Department for civil, Chamber of Commerce for commercial). Certified translation is paired separately where the receiving authority requires it.
Bahrain apostille work from India has been straightforward since 2013, Bahrain has been a Hague Apostille Convention member since 31 December 2013, so MEA apostille is the standard authentication and the older Bahrain Embassy attestation chain on civil and educational documents covered by the Convention no longer applies. The India-side chain is State HRD (educational) or SDM / Home Department (civil) before MEA apostille. After apostille, certified Arabic translation is commonly required by Bahraini authorities and is prepared so the apostille stamp and the pre-MEA seal are also translated.
Most Bahrain files we handle are tied to healthcare-licensing routes under NHRA (National Health Regulatory Authority), employment files routed through LMRA (Labour Market Regulatory Authority), family-visa files for spouses and dependent children, and the occasional dependent inclusion or civil-status file. Healthcare professionals heading to Bahrain run DataFlow primary-source verification in parallel with the apostille chain, DataFlow is a separate, parallel track regardless of the apostille schedule.
NHRA-bound healthcare files require the medical or nursing degree plus the registration plus the good-standing certificate plus the experience certificates to be apostilled together, because NHRA evaluates the full credential picture rather than a single document. Submitting only the degree is the most common reason an NHRA file is returned for completion. LMRA-bound employment files require the degree plus the experience certificate, with employer-issued documents going through Chamber of Commerce attestation in India before MEA apostille.
Send a clear scan of the document set on WhatsApp +91-9220161774 with the Bahraini recipient named in one line (NHRA for which profession, LMRA / employer, family-visa, or other) and the deadline. SiZA Global confirms the chain, the realistic working-day timeline for your State HRD, the DataFlow coordination for healthcare files, the Arabic translation requirement, and a written quote before originals move.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a single official stamp issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the back of an Indian document. Once placed, the document is accepted in any country that is a member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, about 125 countries today, including the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia (since 2022), and Canada (since 2024). For non-Hague destinations such as UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Egypt, MEA apostille alone is not enough, the document needs MEA attestation plus the destination country's embassy attestation in India.
Is apostille required for Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention in December 2022. For Indian documents going to Saudi Arabia today, MEA apostille (after the relevant pre-step, State HRD for educational documents, SDM or Home Department for civil documents) is the standard India-side authentication. The previous Saudi Embassy + Cultural Attaché route was discontinued in December 2022; some Saudi employers still ask for QVP / Mosaddaqa qualification verification or SCFHS DataFlow PSV separately for licensed professions. SiZA Global confirms which parallel tracks apply to your specific Saudi file at scan review.
