A senior product manager at Razorpay Bengaluru, BTech CS from VNIT Nagpur 2019, four years at Flipkart followed by two years at Razorpay on payments infrastructure, received an MBA admission to the Said Business School at the University of Oxford in February 2026 for the 1-MBA class of 2026-27. Her CAS letter from Said arrived in March 2026 for the September 2026 intake. The UK Student Visa file at the VFS Delhi visa application centre needed apostille on her VNIT Nagpur BTech degree, MEA apostille on her class-twelve Maharashtra State Board certificate (she is from Pune originally), MEA apostille on her birth certificate from the Pune Municipal Corporation, MEA apostille on her marriage certificate from the Bengaluru Sub-Registrar (she got married in 2023 so the file already had the name-equivalence step covered with her affidavit), and a fresh PCC from the Bengaluru Passport Seva Kendra Lalbagh. The UK has been a Hague apostille destination for Indian documents since 1965, so the route stayed clean through MEA Patiala House. The Maharashtra HRD step ran through the State Higher Education Department Mantralaya Mumbai (the VNIT degree being a National Institute of Technology centrally-administered degree did not need a separate state HRD step). MEA apostille at Patiala House Delhi. Typically three weeks end to end. Her UK Student Visa was stamped at VFS Delhi two weeks after documents reached Said Business School. Typical arrival is at Heathrow for the September 2026 Oxford 1-MBA orientation on schedule. The Graduate Route at the end of her one-year MBA will give her two years to find a UK Skilled Worker sponsor.
That arc is the arc behind every Indian woman student leaving for a UK Master's. Indian women now make up roughly half of all Indian student visa applications to the UK each year. The shift has been steady and is built on three things: the strong global ranking of UK universities, the one-year Master's structure that fits a working woman looking to pivot her career without taking a long career break, and the Graduate Route post-study work visa that gives two years to find a Skilled Worker sponsor. Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Bristol, Cardiff, Cambridge and the larger London universities all carry sizeable Indian women student communities.
The UK route in 2026
The UK Student Visa runs on the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issued by the university. The CAS lets the candidate apply for a Subclass 500 (Student) visa through the UKVI commercial partner (VFS Global in India). The application asks for the academic records, the English language test (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or the UKVI-recognised alternative), the financial evidence, the ATAS clearance where the course needs it (most STEM PhDs and some research master's), and the medical TB test from an IOM-approved clinic.
After the master's, the Graduate Route gives two years of unrestricted work permission (three years for PhD graduates). After the Graduate Route, the Skilled Worker visa is the standard onward route, with the salary threshold raised to GBP 38,700 in April 2024 (with the Immigration Salary List at GBP 30,960). The same apostilled academic documents will be used at each stage.
The in India student attestation work for the United Kingdom in 2026
The UK has been a Hague apostille country for Indian documents since 1965. MEA apostille is the standard authentication.
State-level attestation or notarisation on the academic documents. HRD or the State Education Department in the issuing state. Three to seven working days.
MEA apostille in Delhi. The Ministry of External Affairs adds the apostille stamp. Three to five working days.
Certified translation is rarely needed for UK files. Indian academic and civil documents in English are accepted directly.
A Medium of Instruction certificate from the issuing university, confirming that the degree was taught in English. Many UK universities ask for this in lieu of an IELTS where the candidate's prior degree was English-medium.
For the Police Clearance Certificate, the RPO issues it. The PCC is needed for some specific situations (longer-term visa applications or when the candidate is over a certain age).
Tracked return courier takes three to seven working days inside India.
If everything is in order, the steps run in two to three weeks.
Documents the file carries
The degree certificate or the current academic record, depending on whether the candidate is applying for undergraduate or master's, with all marksheets.
The university transcript with subjects, credit hours and grading scale.
The Medium of Instruction certificate from the issuing university for candidates whose prior degree was English-medium.
The CAS letter from the UK university.
Financial evidence (bank statements, education loan sanction letter, scholarship award letter) showing funds available for the first year of tuition plus living costs in the relevant UK region (the maintenance requirement is GBP 1,483 per month in London and GBP 1,136 per month outside London, for up to nine months).
ATAS clearance where the course needs it.
The medical TB test certificate from an IOM-approved clinic, valid for six months from issue.
Passport with at least eighteen months of validity. PCC from the RPO where applicable. Marriage certificate (for women applying with a dependant or where the visa requires identity confirmation across maiden and married names).
Name continuity for married women applicants
For a married Indian woman applying to a UK course where her degree was issued in her maiden name and her passport is in her married name, the same name-continuity work applies as on other professional files. A name-change affidavit notarised before a sub-registrar, going through the apostille route alongside the academic documents, resolves the question at the UKVI counter.
For a married woman bringing a dependant spouse on a Subclass 500 dependent visa, the dependant route has been narrowed since January 2024. Only master's research, PhD and government-sponsored students can bring dependants on a Subclass 500 dependent visa. Other categories of master's students cannot. Confirm the current rule with UKVI before planning the family file.
What we handle in India for the United Kingdom student file, and what the United Kingdom side handles
When you first send us scans on WhatsApp at +91 9220161774, we read the academic record, the CAS letter and the passport for UKVI fit. We tell you which documents need the apostille work, whether the Medium of Instruction certificate is needed, and how the name-continuity work runs alongside the academic route. We share the realistic timeline and the realistic cost end to end before you pay anything.
When the originals reach our Noida office, we run the documentation steps from our Noida office. State-level attestation on the academic documents, MEA apostille in Delhi, certified translation if any document is in a regional Indian language (rare for UK files), PCC attestation if applicable, name-change affidavit drafting where needed, and tracked return courier to you in India or directly to your UK university. Named SiZA staff carry the documents between offices in Delhi NCR.
We do not file the UK Student Visa application. You do that through the UKVI portal and VFS Global. We do not arrange the IELTS, PTE or TOEFL examinations (the respective testing centres do that). We do not arrange the TB medical test (IOM-approved clinics in your city do that). We do not arrange the ATAS clearance (the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office does that). We do not handle accommodation, banking, NIN registration or anything inside the UK after you arrive.
For a free scan-review of your UK women's student file, send a WhatsApp message to +91 9220161774 with photos of your degree or academic record, your marksheets and your CAS letter.
