A Delhi Public School Physics teacher signed a Sharjah offer in February 2026. Before she could join the August intake, her BEd, BSc and class-twelve certificate needed State HRD attestation, MEA attestation, UAE Embassy attestation and the UAE MOFA digital stamp, all done inside India through VFS Global. This guide walks through every step of UAE degree attestation and MOFA attestation for Indian teachers, what the KHDA and ADEK teaching licence file carries, the realistic timeline, and where SiZA picks up the work from Noida.

In this guide(4 sections)
  1. 1.How does the UAE teacher licensing framework work?
  2. 2.Which documents need attestation for UAE teaching jobs, and in what order?
  3. 3.What does a UAE teacher file from India actually carry?
  4. 4.What does SiZA run from Noida, and what does the UAE school handle?

A CBSE Physics teacher from Delhi Public School Mathura Road, BSc and BEd from Lady Shri Ram College for Women Delhi and the Department of Education University of Delhi, eleven years at DPS Mathura Road, signed an offer in February 2026 from Delhi Private School Sharjah for the 2026-27 academic year. The KHDA-affiliated school (DPS Sharjah operates under both KHDA Dubai rules for its Dubai branch and SPEA Sharjah rules for the Sharjah campus) needed her BEd from the Faculty of Education University of Delhi attested (the BEd is the document that carries the teaching credential weight at the UAE Ministry of Education review), her BSc Physics from LSR attested, her class-twelve CBSE certificate from 2007 attested, and a fresh PCC from the Delhi Passport Seva Kendra at Bhikaji Cama Place. The Delhi HRD step was via the Directorate of Education Old Secretariat, then MEA Patiala House, then UAE Embassy attestation at Chanakyapuri through VFS Global, then the UAE MOFA digital stamp at the same VFS Global desk (since 2023 the MOFA step happens in India through VFS Global, not in the destination emirate after arrival). Around five weeks end to end. The Sharjah school's HR uploaded the attested set to SPEA Sharjah for the teaching permit, and she joined the August intake.

Indian teachers are one of the largest expatriate teaching communities in the UAE. The UAE Ministry of Education, KHDA in Dubai, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and the wider private school network across the seven emirates recruit Indian teachers continuously. The CBSE schools (GEMS Education's Indian curriculum schools, Indian High School Dubai, Delhi Private School Dubai and Sharjah, Cambridge International School, JSS Private School), the ICSE schools (St Mary's Catholic High School, Our Own English High School), the British curriculum schools (Dubai College, Brighton College Dubai, Repton, Cranleigh), the American curriculum schools (American School of Dubai, Dubai American Academy, GEMS American Academy), the IB schools (Dubai International Academy, Greenfield International School), and the universities (American University in Dubai, Heriot-Watt Dubai, University of Birmingham Dubai, BITS Pilani Dubai, Manipal Academy of Higher Education Dubai) all hire Indian teachers.

How does the UAE teacher licensing framework work?

School teaching licences (KHDA and ADEK)

KHDA in Dubai issues the Teaching Licence required for teachers in private schools. ADEK in Abu Dhabi issues the Professional Teaching Licence under the same framework. The licence has three levels (Class I, II, III) based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The licence application is filed by the school's HR team after the teacher arrives.

The supporting file the licence relies on includes:

  • The attested bachelor's degree.
  • The attested B.Ed. or M.Ed.
  • The university transcript.
  • Attested experience letters.
  • The IELTS or equivalent English language test.
  • A teaching philosophy statement.

Every degree and teaching certificate in that list has to clear UAE embassy attestation and the UAE MOFA stamp before the licence team will accept it, which is the part this guide is about.

University teaching roles (CAA)

For university teaching roles, the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) sets the qualification framework. PhD-qualified candidates are required for most university roles, and the PhD itself goes through the same UAE embassy attestation and MOFA attestation before the university file is complete.

Which documents need attestation for UAE teaching jobs, and in what order?

The UAE is not a Hague apostille country for Indian personal and educational documents, so there is no apostille on this file. UAE degree attestation runs through embassy attestation plus the UAE MOFA stamp, and in 2026 both of those happen inside India through VFS Global rather than after you land in the emirate.

Here is the order the steps actually run in:

  1. State HRD attestation. Educational certificate attestation on the bachelor's degree, the B.Ed. or M.Ed., and the marksheets goes through the State HRD attestation department. Mandatory from states where HRD is required (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala). Three to seven working days, though some state HRD departments take longer.
  2. MEA attestation in Delhi. The Ministry of External Affairs stamps the documents after HRD. Three to five working days.
  3. UAE Embassy attestation in Delhi through VFS Global. Four to seven working days standard. This is the embassy attestation step.
  4. UAE MOFA digital stamp. Since the 2023 MOFA digital rollout, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stamp is applied in India through the same VFS Global partner, not in Dubai or Sharjah after you arrive.
  5. Certified Arabic translation. A UAE-listed translator prepares the certified translation of the qualification documents where KHDA or ADEK asks for it.
  6. PCC attestation. The Regional Passport Office issues the Police Clearance Certificate, then it runs through the same UAE embassy attestation and MOFA steps.
  7. Tracked return courier. Three to seven working days inside India.

If everything is in order, the full degree attestation and MOFA attestation work runs in three to five weeks.

What stays with the school in the UAE

We do not file the KHDA Teaching Licence or the ADEK Professional Teaching Licence. Your UAE school's HR team does that. We do not run the UAE work permit application. The school files it with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. We do not arrange the IELTS test. We do not handle anything inside the UAE after you arrive.

For a free scan-review of your UAE teacher file, send a WhatsApp message to +91 9220161774 with photos of your bachelor's degree, your B.Ed. or M.Ed., your experience letters and your UAE school offer letter (if you have it).
