A senior risk analyst at JPMorgan Mumbai, MBA Finance from NMIMS Mumbai 2018, BCom (Hons) from Sri Venkateswara College Delhi 2014, six years at JPMorgan Mumbai on the credit-risk modelling team for the EMEA wholesale book, with a JPMorgan Warsaw internal transfer offer for a senior risk modelling role at the Warsaw Operations Center on Aleje Jerozolimskie in hand. PLN 22,000 monthly base on a Polish Type D long-term visa converting to a Single Permit after arrival. The JPMorgan HR file in Warsaw needed apostille on her NMIMS MBA, MEA apostille on her Sri Venkateswara College BCom (Hons), MEA apostille on her class-twelve CBSE certificate, MEA apostille on her marriage certificate from the Mumbai Sub-Registrar (the family would follow on dependant residence), certified Polish translation by a Polish Embassy-listed translator, and a fresh PCC from the Mumbai Passport Seva Kendra Lower Parel. Poland has been a Hague apostille destination for Indian documents since 2005, so the route stayed clean through the authorised MEA service-provider route. The Maharashtra HRD step ran through the State Higher Education Department Mantralaya Mumbai. The Delhi HRD step ran through the Directorate of Education Old Secretariat for the Sri Venkateswara College degree. MEA apostille at the authorised MEA service-provider route. Roughly six weeks end to end. JPMorgan's Polish PRO arranged the Type D visa through the Embassy of Poland Delhi; she landed at Warsaw Chopin for the May 2026 start.

That sequence is the sequence behind most Indian IT and finance moves to Poland in 2026. Poland has built one of Europe's largest shared services, IT and global capability centre clusters over the past decade. Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Lodz and Katowice host the offshored operations of Citi, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Bank of America, State Street, Credit Suisse legacy units, ABB, Siemens, Capgemini, Cognizant, Infosys Poland, TCS Poland, HCLTech Poland, Tech Mahindra, Sopra Steria, Atos and a number of the Polish unicorn companies (Allegro, Brainly, Asseco, CD Projekt, InPost). Indian engineers, finance specialists, risk analysts, accounting professionals and IT operations leaders fill mid and senior roles across this cluster. The Polish technical universities (Warsaw University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, Lodz University of Technology, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology) and the comprehensive universities (University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University Krakow, Warsaw School of Economics) run an increasing number of English-medium Master's and PhD programmes for Indian students.

Which documents need apostille attestation for Poland from India?

Poland has been a Hague apostille country for Indian documents since 2005, so a single MEA apostille in Delhi, not embassy attestation, is what makes your Indian papers valid in Poland. The degree attestation runs in clear steps, and most of them can run in parallel.

The apostille in India steps, in order

  1. State HRD attestation. Educational certificate attestation goes through the State HRD or State Education Department in the issuing state. Personal documents like a birth or marriage certificate go through the SDM or Home Department. Roughly 7 to 45 working days depending on the state and the university.
  2. MEA apostille in Delhi at the authorised MEA service-provider route. 3 to 5 working days.
  3. Certified Polish translation by a sworn translator (tlumacz przysiegly) for the residence permit application and most formal steps. 3 to 7 working days.
  4. Police Clearance Certificate. The RPO issues the PCC, then it takes MEA apostille like any other document.
  5. Tracked return courier inside India. 3 to 7 working days.

If everything is in order, the work runs in three to five weeks. See more on apostille in India, state HRD attestation and certified translation.

What are the Polish work permit and student visa routes for Indians?

For IT and finance workers

The Single Permit (Karta Pobytu, with the right to work) is the standard combined permit. The EU Blue Card is available for highly qualified workers with a salary above the EU Blue Card threshold, which is around PLN 11,200 per month in 2026. The Type D long-stay visa is issued at the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi or the Polish Consulate in Mumbai for the initial entry; the Karta Pobytu follows the residence permit application made to the Polish Voivode after arrival.

Family reunification under the Karta Pobytu is available, and the spouse can apply for an unrestricted work permit in many cases.

For students

The Type D long-stay visa for studies is issued after the Polish university sends an acceptance letter and the candidate shows proof of funds. Tuition at Polish universities is moderate, around EUR 2,000 to 6,000 per year for English-medium master's programmes at public universities, and higher at private universities.

Which documents does a Poland file from India carry?

The core of every file is the same: the engineering, business, IT, finance or relevant degree with all marksheets, and the university transcript with subjects, credit hours and the grading scale. From there it splits by who is travelling.

For workers

  • Detailed experience letters from each Indian employer naming role, period, reporting manager and the technology stack or project specifics
  • Professional certifications (PMP, ITIL, AWS, Azure, CCNA, CFA, ACCA, FRM, CIA) where applicable

For students

  • The bachelor's degree (for master's applicants) or the current academic record (for undergraduate or PhD applicants)
  • The English Medium of Instruction certificate

For everyone

  • The marriage certificate if a spouse is joining
  • The long-form birth certificate of any dependant child
  • Certified Polish translation by a sworn translator on all academic, professional and civil documents
  • The PCC from the RPO
  • The passport with at least twenty-four months of validity
  • The Polish employer offer or the university admission letter

Here is how the main documents map to the attestation step and who issues the certified translation:

Document Authentication in India Certified translation
Degree and marksheets State HRD attestation, then MEA apostille Polish, by a sworn translator
Transcript MEA apostille Polish, by a sworn translator
Birth / marriage certificate SDM or Home Department, then MEA apostille Polish, by a sworn translator
Police Clearance Certificate MEA apostille after RPO issues it Polish, by a sworn translator
Experience letters Usually translation only Polish, by a sworn translator
