If you have a Slovenian university place or a job offer from Krka, Sandoz LEK or a Slovenian engineering firm, your Indian degree and personal documents need MEA apostille in India plus certified Slovenian translation by a sworn translator before they will be accepted. Slovenia is a Hague apostille country, so there is no embassy attestation step. This guide walks through exactly which documents to apostille, where State HRD attestation fits, how the sworn Slovenian translation works, and the realistic timeline from Noida to your start date in Ljubljana or Novo Mesto.

In this guide(4 sections)
  1. 1.Which documents need apostille and translation for a Slovenia application from India?
  2. 2.What are the Slovenian student and work visa routes from India?
  3. 3.What documents does a Slovenia student or work file from India carry?
  4. 4.What does SiZA handle in India, and what stays with Slovenia?

A pharmaceutical formulations scientist at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Hyderabad, MPharm in Pharmaceutics from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad (NIPER Hyderabad) 2021, BPharm from JSS College of Pharmacy Ooty 2019, three years on Dr. Reddy's regulatory submissions team, with a Krka pharmaceutical research offer for a formulations scientist role at the Krka Novo Mesto R&D centre in hand. EUR 2,800 monthly base on a Slovenian Single Permit (Enotno dovoljenje). The Krka HR file needed apostille on her NIPER Hyderabad MPharm, MEA apostille on her JSS College of Pharmacy Ooty BPharm, MEA apostille on her class-twelve Tamil Nadu State Board certificate, certified Slovene translation by a Slovenian Embassy-listed translator, and a fresh PCC from the Hyderabad Passport Seva Kendra Begumpet. Slovenia has been a Hague apostille destination for Indian documents since 1992, so the work stayed clean through MEA Patiala House with no embassy attestation step. The Telangana HRD step ran through the State Higher Education Department Tarnaka for NIPER Hyderabad. The Karnataka HRD step ran through the State Higher Education Department Multistoreyed Building Bengaluru for the JSS Ooty BPharm. MEA apostille at Patiala House Delhi. Around six weeks end to end. The Slovenian Administrative Unit Novo Mesto (Upravna enota Novo mesto) issued the Single Permit in four weeks. On the typical timeline, arrival is at Ljubljana for the May 2026 Krka Novo Mesto start.

That sequence is the sequence behind most Indian skilled-professional moves to Slovenia in 2026. Slovenia is one of the smaller EU destinations on the Indian student and professional map, but the country has been opening up steadily. Ljubljana, Maribor, Koper, Celje and Kranj host the Slovenian pharmaceutical, automotive supplier and IT industries. Krka is one of Central Europe's largest generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, with research and manufacturing in Novo Mesto. Sandoz operates its LEK subsidiary across multiple Slovenian sites. The automotive supplier base (Hella, Yura, Domel, Iskra Avtoelektrika) hires Indian mechanical, automotive and electronics engineers. The IT industry is smaller but growing, with Outfit7 (Talking Tom), Bitstamp and several scale-up startups. The University of Ljubljana, the University of Maribor and the smaller Slovenian universities run an increasing number of English-medium Master's and PhD programmes that draw Indian students.

Which documents need apostille and translation for a Slovenia application from India?

Slovenia has been a Hague apostille country for Indian documents since 1992, so a single MEA apostille is what makes your Indian papers valid there. There is no Slovenian embassy attestation step on Indian-issued documents. The full apostille attestation runs in a fixed order:

  1. State HRD attestation or notarisation. Educational certificate attestation goes through the State HRD or State Education Department in the issuing state. Personal documents go through the SDM or Home Department. Roughly 7 to 45 working days depending on the state and university.
  2. MEA apostille in Delhi at the Patiala House counter. 3 to 5 working days.
  3. Certified Slovenian translation by a sworn translator (sodni tolmac) for the residence permit application and most formal steps. 3 to 7 working days.
  4. PCC apostille. The Regional Passport Office issues the Police Clearance Certificate, then it takes the same MEA apostille.

Tracked return courier takes three to seven working days inside India. If everything is in order, the process runs in three to five weeks end to end.

What are the Slovenian student and work visa routes from India?

The student route

The Type D long-stay visa for studies is issued by the Slovenian Embassy in New Delhi after the candidate has an admission letter from a Slovenian university and proof of funds. Tuition at Slovenian state universities is moderate for EU students and somewhat higher for non-EU students; private universities like Bled School of Management have their own fee structures.

The work route

The Single Permit (Enotno dovoljenje), a combined work and residence permit, is the main route for skilled professionals. The EU Blue Card is available for highly qualified workers with a salary above the relevant threshold (around EUR 32,000 to EUR 38,000 per year in 2026 depending on the role). Family reunification is available after one year on the Single Permit or directly with the Blue Card.

What documents does a Slovenia student or work file from India carry?

Have these originals ready before you start the degree attestation and translation:

  • The engineering, pharma, business or other relevant degree with all marksheets
  • The university transcript with subjects and credit hours
  • Detailed experience letters from each Indian employer for work files, naming role, period, reporting manager and technical work
  • The marriage certificate, if the spouse is joining, and the long-form birth certificate of any dependent child
  • The Police Clearance Certificate from the Regional Passport Office
  • The passport with at least twenty-four months of validity
  • The Slovenian employer offer or the university acceptance letter

Every academic, professional and civil document then needs certified Slovenian translation by a sworn translator before it goes to the embassy or the Administrative Unit.

What does SiZA handle in India, and what stays with Slovenia?

What we run from Noida

When you first send us scans on WhatsApp at +91 9220161774, we read the documents for Slovenian Embassy and Slovenian ministry of interior fit. We tell you which documents need translation, where state-level attestation applies, and how the route times against the visa stamping window. We share the realistic timeline and the realistic cost end to end before any payment is taken.

When the originals reach our Noida office, we run the authentication in India: State HRD attestation or notarisation, MEA apostille in Delhi, certified Slovenian translation by a sworn translator, PCC apostille after the RPO issues the PCC, and tracked return courier to you or directly to your Slovenian employer or university. Named SiZA staff carry the documents between offices in Delhi NCR.

What belongs to Slovenia

We do not file the Slovenian student visa, Single Permit or EU Blue Card. The Slovenian employer or the candidate files these with the Slovenian Embassy and the Slovenian Administrative Unit (Upravna enota) after arrival. We do not handle anything in Slovenia once you arrive.
