A plumber is not one trade. Residential plumbing, commercial plumbing, industrial plumbing, fire fighting systems, gas plumbing, drainage and waste systems each carry their own equipment and code knowledge. The Qatar employer reading the experience letter will look for the system type, the materials handled (PPR, copper, GI, PVC), the pressure ranges, and the maintenance vs. installation work split.

HVAC similarly splits into system types. Chiller plants, VRF / VRV systems, split units, AHUs (air handling units), FCUs (fan coil units), BMS (Building Management Systems), ducting and controls work, refrigerant handling. A technician who has worked on Daikin VRV at a hotel chain in Mumbai looks different on paper to a technician who has run a Carrier chiller plant at an industrial facility.

Ask each past Indian employer for a detailed experience letter before you leave. Name the system type, the equipment manufacturer, the project type and the supervisor.

How a Qatar plumber application moves through the Indian side in 2026

Qatar is not a Hague apostille country for Indian personal and educational documents. The steps run through embassy attestation.

There are five parts on the India side.

State-level attestation on the ITI plumber or HVAC trade certificate. SDM or HRD route. Three to seven working days.

MEA attestation in Delhi. Three to five working days.

Qatar Embassy attestation at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi. Five to eight working days standard.

Certified Arabic translation by a Qatar-listed translator on the experience letters and the trade certificate where the Qatar employer asks for it. Three to seven working days.

For the Police Clearance Certificate, the RPO issues it, then MEA attestation, then Qatar Embassy attestation on the PCC.

Tracked return courier takes three to seven working days.

Qatar MOFA in Doha adds its final stamp after the documents arrive in Doha. The Qatar-side importer or PRO runs that step.

If everything is in order, the work in India runs in three to five weeks.

GAMCA-approved medical fitness certificate, done at a GAMCA-approved centre before visa stamping.
