How Indian Doctors Are Contributing to the UAE's Healthcare Growth

SiZA Global2 May 20268 min readReviewed by SiZA Global Documentation Review Team

Indian doctors are bringing specialist skills to growing UAE hospitals and clinics.

Why UAE hospitals lean on Indian specialists

The growth in Dubai's and Abu Dhabi's hospital networks has outpaced the Emirati specialist pipeline. The shortfall is filled by Indian MBBS-and-postgraduate doctors with five to fifteen years of hands-on case load, often from teaching hospitals in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Cardiology, internal medicine, anaesthesia, paediatrics and emergency medicine are the consistent gaps. DHA, DOH (Abu Dhabi) and MOH each run their own credential review, and each one reads the candidate's file before any consultant contract is signed.

What makes the UAE route different from Saudi is the regulator-by-emirate split. A doctor licensed for Dubai is not automatically licensed for Abu Dhabi, and the document set the emirate asks for is not casual. Degrees must be MEA-apostilled, then attested by the UAE Embassy in New Delhi, and then ratified by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation after arrival. DataFlow verification through the regulator is a separate parallel step.

What this kind of file usually carries

A consultant file should be capable of standing up to source verification. That means everything from the MBBS provisional letter to the most recent post-graduate degree, with each marksheet, internship completion, NMC or state medical council registration, every hospital experience letter, the most recent good standing certificate, and any fellowship or specialisation certificate. Gaps in dates raise flags. Photocopies sent for attestation when the originals are at home do not work.

  • MBBS degree and MD or MS degree, with all marksheets
  • Internship completion certificate
  • NMC and state medical council registration certificates
  • Current good standing certificate from NMC or state council
  • Experience and consultant letters from each hospital, period and role specified
  • Specialisation or fellowship certificate
  • Passport with at least eight months validity and the UAE offer letter

Where SiZA Global fits in this preparation

We carry the India-side chain. That is MEA apostille, UAE Embassy attestation, certified translation of any paper that needs to read in Arabic for the regulator, coordination with DataFlow and arrangement of the post-arrival UAE MOFA ratification where the case needs it. Each original document is scanned and tracked before any movement. Couriering of originals is on documented routes with our own staff, not on bike-aggregator apps.

The DHA, DOH and MOH licensing exams, the visa stamp and the hospital contract are decisions for those authorities. We do not influence them and we do not claim to.

FAQs

Why are Indians moving to United Arab Emirates for healthcare opportunities?

UAE hospital groups are running specialist gaps in cardiology, internal medicine, paediatrics, anaesthesia and emergency medicine, and Indian consultants with five to fifteen years of case load are the strongest fit for those roles. The DHA, DOH and MOH licensing routes are well-trodden, and salary plus tax-free residency make the move worthwhile for many doctors.

Which documents may Indians need before moving to United Arab Emirates?

An Indian doctor's UAE file usually carries the MBBS degree and postgraduate degree with all marksheets, internship certificate, NMC and state medical council registrations, a current good standing certificate, experience and consultant letters from each hospital with role and dates, any specialisation or fellowship proof, the UAE employer offer and a valid passport.

Can SiZA Global help with apostille, attestation or translation?

Yes. We process MEA apostille, UAE Embassy attestation, certified Arabic translation where the regulator specifies it, DataFlow coordination and the post-arrival UAE MOFA ratification. We do not run the DHA, DOH or MOH licensing exam, the medical fitness step or the consultant contract negotiation.

Is SiZA Global a government department or a private documentation support company?

SiZA Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a private documentation services company based in Noida. We are not a government department, not an embassy and not a medical recruitment agency. We handle the documentation chain so the case moves cleanly through DHA, DOH, MOH, DataFlow and the UAE Embassy and MOFA.
