How Indian Exporters & Suppliers Are Contributing to Saudi Arabia's Construction Materials, Food And Services Growth

SiZA Global2 May 20268 min readReviewed by SiZA Global Documentation Review Team

Indian suppliers are supporting Saudi Arabia's growing consumer and infrastructure markets.

Why Saudi commercial attestation is more strict than UAE

Saudi Arabia's commercial document review is run through SASO, the Saudi Customs Authority and the relevant ministry depending on the product (SFDA for food and pharma, MEWA for agriculture). The Saudi Embassy attestation in New Delhi sits at the centre of the documentation chain. The Saudi MOFA in Riyadh ratifies the documents after arrival.

The piece that catches exporters out is the level of detail Saudi reviewers expect inside commercial invoices and certificates of origin. Generic descriptions are challenged. HS codes must match. Free sale certificates from the Indian regulator are often required for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products. Power of Attorney for the Saudi-side local agent or distributor needs the full attestation chain.

What this kind of file usually carries

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Certificate of origin (chamber-issued)
  • Free sale certificate or product analysis report from CDSCO, FSSAI or BIS as applicable
  • Power of Attorney to the Saudi-side agent or distributor
  • Indian company incorporation, MOA, AOA, GST and PAN
  • Trade licence, export registration (RCMC, IEC)
  • SASO conformity certificate where applicable

Where SiZA Global fits in this preparation

We handle the India side: Chamber of Commerce attestation, MEA attestation, Saudi Embassy attestation in New Delhi, certified Arabic translation by listed translators and tracked return of originals. The Saudi customs decision, the SASO conformity outcome and the Saudi MOFA ratification belong to the Saudi side. We do not promise outcomes there.
