MQA, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, evaluates foreign qualifications against the Malaysian Qualifications Framework. It is the recognition body that Malaysian universities, employers, and some chambers use to decide whether an Indian degree maps cleanly to a Malaysian one. MQA recognition is not always mandatory, but for university admission, regulated professions, and some Employment Pass categories, it is what unlocks the rest of the work.

The MQA process is online and takes typically four to twelve weeks depending on the qualification and the volume at MQA.
MQA asks for the degree certificate, the full academic transcript with grading scale, a passport copy, and the application form. For some degrees, a course outline or syllabus is asked for as well. Where the receiving Malaysian body is a regulated chamber (MMC for doctors, BEM for engineers, BOAM for architects), the chamber may do its own evaluation on top of MQA, or accept MQA directly.
